SOAR with SWPBIS at Joe Walker Elementary...
The students and staff of Joe Walker Elementary School SOAR everyday by being Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful. The School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports program teaches behavior expectations and rewards students for exhibiting positive behaviors. This preventative approach utilizes positive antecedent and intervention practices to teach appropriate, desirable behaviors. SWPBIS utilizes an RtII approach for establishing and redesigning teaching and learning environments so that they are effective, efficient, relevant, and durable for all students, families, and educators. SWPBIS is an example of RtII implementation with an emphasis on the school-wide social behavior curriculum of classrooms and schools.
