Virtual School Board Meetings FAQ

Q: If I want to view the meeting do I need to register?
A:  No, if you would like to view the meeting, you can visit the McGuffey Zoom YouTube Channel at the time of the meeting to view the livestream of the meeting.  If you follow this link, it will take you to the McGuffey Zoom YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7O8XmNebPlzi7aLxzBBbQ
 
QIf I want to speak during the meeting, do I have to register?
A:  Yes, by registering for the meeting, you will recieve connection information for the Zoom Webinar Platform.  You can register by clicking on the date next to the meeting you wish to participate in.
 
QWhat information do I need to provide when I register?
A:  The information needed for registration is as follows:
1)  First Name
2)  Last Name
3)  Valid E-Mail Address
4)  Township of Residence
 
QWhat criteria are being used to approve the registration of attendees who wish to participate in the board meeting?
A:  Criteria used to participate in the meetings are the same as the questions listed on the registration form.  Attendees on the Zoom Webinar Platform must be a resident of the district in order to participate.
 
QWhy do you need my e-mail address?
A:  You need to provide a valid e-mail address so we can send you connection information after the registration process is completed.
 
QHow long does the registration process take?
A:  Registration takes just a couple of minutes.  Once you answer the questions on the registration screen and submit your answers, the approval process will take place and you will receive an e-mail with connection information.
 
QWhen can I register to participate in the meeting?
 A:  Registration links will be posted on the website in the "Virtual School Board Meetings" section on the Monday of the week the board meeting takes place.  Registration information will also be placed in the "District News" section of the district homepage at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.  The registration links will remain open thoughout the duration of the meeting.
 
QCan I register to participate in the meeting while the meeting is taking place?
A:  Yes, the registration link will remain open throughout the duration of the meeting and will close once the meeting has ended.
 
QHow long does it take to get approval after I complete my registration?
A:  Approval for participation in the meetings has been set to automatically approve registrants.  Once you complete the registration process you should recieve a confirmation e-mail with connection information within one or two minutes.
 
QWhat should I do if I do not receive my connection information after I register to participate?
A:  You should check your "Junk" or "Spam" folders of the e-mail account you supplied in the registration form.  The confirmation e-mail will be sent from the following address:  McGuffey School District - [email protected]  and will have the name of the meeting you registered for in the subject line.
