Claysville Elementary
PTO Information
2019-2020
Welcome to the Claysville Elementary PTO
(Parent Teacher Organization)! Did you know just by having a student here at
Claysville Elementary, that you are already a member of our PTO!? We work in partnership with our Principal Ms.
Fleck, Vice Principal Mr. Wolfe, and all of the teachers and faculty here at
Claysville Elementary to enhance each and every student’s elementary school
experience. Please consider volunteering with us! Look over the attached information that
describes the PTO volunteer opportunities.
Then please fill out the volunteer form by indicating which areas you
would like to participate in. With
everyone’s participation, we can make this a great year!
Please feel free to contact the PTO via email;

We Look Forward To Working With You!
Book Fair: The Book Fair is a week-long event in September
and March. We also have a BOGO Book Fair during May. Students will visit the
Book Fair during their Library class and will have the opportunity to purchase
books with money brought from home. The
PTO also provides one free book per student during our Fall and Spring Book
Fairs. Parent volunteers are needed to assist the students with book selection,
restock, and to straighten books throughout
the day.
Fundraiser Deliveries and Pickup: Parent volunteers are needed
to help sort and fill orders for Otis Spunkmeyer Pizza and Cookie Dough, Sarris
Candies, and Seasonal Flowers. Due to the size of the fundraisers and the need
for some items to be kept frozen, several volunteers are needed in order to get
the orders filled in a timely manner.
Holiday Shoppe: This
year, our Holiday Shoppe will be held December 3rd -7th. Holiday
Shoppe gives the students an opportunity to purchase their own gifts for their
family members and pets. Students will
bring money from home and will visit the Holiday Shoppe during their class’s
designated time. The Holiday Shoppe is a service the PTO provides for the
students and is NOT a
fundraiser. Many parent volunteers are
needed to help the students make their gift selection and stay within their
budget, especially the younger students.
Cash Bash: This year our Cash Bash will be on March 23rd
at South Franklin Fire Hall. It is a MAJOR fundraiser which provides at least 1/3
of the amount needed to fund the school year.
This event requires MANY volunteers in order for it to be as successful
and profitable as possible. Volunteers
are needed the day before for set-up.
Volunteers are needed the night of the event to help serve food, to take
tickets at the door, to sell Chinese Auction tickets, pull tabs, and other
special raffle tickets, and for clean-up.
In the months preceding the event, help is needed with selling the event
tickets and gathering Chinese Auction items.
Fun Day: Fun
Day takes place over two days at the end of the school year and is a great way
to finish out the year! We plan many
stations that the students will visit throughout the day. Parent volunteers are needed to oversee the
stations, explaining the station to each class that visits and ensuring that
the station is running safely and properly.
PTO
meetings will be held on the third Wednesday every month with the exception of
March. Meeting times this year will be either 3:30 pm or 5:30 pm in the school
library. Anyone wanting to attend can enter through the library doors by the
upper parking lot for the 5:30 pm meetings. For the 3:30 pm meetings you must
enter through the main office. Children are always welcome and we will provide
snacks and entertainment for any child in attendance.

we are excited to add a few new Fundraisers as well as Events hosted by the PTO
for the students! We will keep you posted on all of these as soon as dates have
been determined.
Please remember that any volunteering that
requires interaction with the children you will need to have your clearances
turned into the office before you can participate. You do not need to have
clearances to attend PTO meetings. You can find a link with all clearance
