Parent Resources

Social Media Support

With technology and social media usage growing, the need to educate adults and parents is too. We have provided a couple of great resources to empower families and all involved caregivers to keep everyone informed of great tools, trusted advice, and the harmful effects of technology. Our goal is to keep our students safe.

Common Sense Media, an independent nonprofit organization, is a leader in helping kids thrive in a world of media and technology. The organization works to empower parents, teachers, and policymakers by providing unbiased information, trusted advice, and innovative tools to help them harness the power of media and technology as a positive for kids.

Common Sense offers a wealth of information for parents and families within its Advice for Parents section. Information is available by age, media, and issue. In addition to providing information on social media issues, the site also has articles and resources about video games, movies, technology addiction, cyberbullying, mental health, privacy and online safety, cell phones, screen time, and more.

Another great resource for families is Shape the Sky, this is a network that comes together to connect knowledge and wisdom to create safe and responsible children.  The site provides many series of training programs to inform adults about current youth culture online, the mental health implications of social media, and the general misuse of technology by kids and teens.
