In a sign of just how rapidly our world has evolved, the topic of Artificial Intelligence or AI, was not considered a priority challenge area for our 2022-2025 Future Ready Comprehensive Plan (FRCP). As we look to implemnent the next iteration of the FRCP for 2025-2028, Artifical Intelligence has emerged as a significant force and one which we as a district must address.
Priority: The McGuffey School District will build a shared understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) among all stakeholders by providing clear communication, education, and resources that highlight how AI works, its potential benefits in K-12 education, and its alignment with the district’s mission, vision, and goals. This will include professional development for educators, informational sessions for families, and student-focused initiatives to empower informed and ethical use of AI. |
