All Pennsylvania students are required to complete career readiness artifacts, build a career portfolio, and ultimately complete a career plan prior to their high school graduation. These requirements support the development of graduates who are ready to begin their careers. Much of this career development is coordinated by the school counselors, with support from the administration and teaching staff.
The McGuffey School District school counseling team is recommending the implementation of the Smart Futures career readiness program for use in meeting the career readiness expectations. This recommendation will be placed on the June 16, 2022 school board agenda for an approval vote.
